   Prerequisites (Review PDF file below)

All of the above courses have pre-requisites and a copy of the
attached Awards & Qualifications Chart.
Please check these pre-requisites before attending the course.

For support for IRB Crew and IRB Driver awards, the training contacts
are
Dave Hough and Tony Rojas

*** Additionally, candidates from clubs other than the club hosting the training
must bring a Completed Form 14 with them to attend any of the above courses.

Notes;
  1. Further courses will be run when sufficient demand exists.

  2. Other Facilitators will run courses at their club and notify other clubs via the
    South Coast Branch website.

  3. The South Coast Board of Lifesaving will be discussing when required, among other education items, how best to attract, train and retain people for Surf Rescue Certificate, Bronze Medallion, IRB Crew and Driver and Silver Medallion Beach Management awards and any other award that requires a need for a training course.

It is Essential if Attending any Course that;
  1. All Candidates need to meet the pre-requisites for each award at the time of the course.  The pre-requisites are attached and are also available on the SLSNSW website.  If attending the course while not meeting the pre-requisite requirements, candidates must discuss this with their club Chief Training Officer (CTO) and the course presenter with a clear program of how they will meet requirements within a short period of time.

  2. All candidates must bring along a Form 14 and hand it to the facilitator prior to the start of any training course. Where a candidate does not have a Form 14, discuss with the facilitator prior to the commencement of the training.

  3. Where a Form 14 is not available as prerequisites are not yet met, discuss with the facilitator how prerequisites will be met within one month

  4. Candidates should use the Branch website to indicate their intention to attend. Click onto the “TRAINING” heading to book your position.  This is important as resources need to be supplied for most courses to meet the number of candidates attending (at least by the Thursday prior to the course).  Additionally, if there are insufficient candidates, the course may be cancelled.

  5. A second round of these courses may be offered to meet identified needs at different venues.
    That said do not rely on a second round of courses to achieve an award you require..

  6. Contact me if you wish to do the Training Officer course and/or the Assessor course

    Apart from that, have fun.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me by return email or phone.
